First-year donor scholarship regulations

Regulations for non-renewable awards (up to two semesters maximum)

  1. Donor scholarships are contingent upon the scholarship recipient maintaining their residency status for tuition purposes. A change in residency status will impact the student’s eligibility to receive the award in the future.
  2. The scholarship recipient must enroll at MSU for the semester that the scholarship is awarded; the award may not be deferred to a subsequent semester of initial enrollment.
  3. Non-renewable donor scholarships are limited to two consecutive semesters of enrollment (fall and spring of an academic year) as an undergraduate.
  4. MSU reserves the right to adjust an award in consideration of other MSU scholarship offers.
  5. The scholarship recipient must enroll for and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester.
  6. The scholarship recipient must remain in good academic standing with the university for the award to be disbursed. Semesters for which the scholarship recipient is not eligible to receive this award are included in the two-semester limit.
  7. The scholarship recipient must notify the Scholarship Reviewing Committee at es.scholarships@msu.edu in writing if enrollment at MSU is disrupted (excluding summer semester) and request an official leave of absence from the university. The committee will consider the request.
